JIVAMUKTI YOGA CHARLESTON
Jivamukti Yoga Charleston offers vigorously physical and intellectually stimulating yoga classes. The emphasis is on teaching yoga as a spiritual practice. Classes consists of vinyasa (flowing asana sequences), hands-on adjustments, pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, Sanskrit chanting, yoga philosophy, and deep relaxation. Asana sequences are adeptly woven together to fantastical soundtracks that are uplifting and inspirational - from Indian mantra ragas to spoken word to modern day rock & soul.
THE SCHOOL
Co-Founders Jeffrey Cohen & Andrea Boyd are Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga® teachers. Jivamukti is one of the nine internationally recognized styles of Hatha Yoga, and is based on 5 Tenets:
